He quickly gained recognition for his modifications to saxophone mouthpieces, attracting interest from renowned musicians like Joe Lovano. Over the years, he patented new mouthpiece designs, expanded his workshop globally, and collaborated with esteemed musicians. François also ventured into teaching master classes and innovated ligature designs. Notably, he embarked on a collaboration with composer Philippe Boesmans for a saxophone prototype project. In 2003, François Louis furthered his innovations, including the modelisation of the Aulochrome and the development of new reed concepts for saxophones and clarinets.
