Manufacturer: Aizen
Responsible for the Aizen mouthpieces is Minoru Kubota and his company Projection Co. Ltd. He himself is a saxophonist and owner of a music store in Kochi, Japan; attached is a small but high-quality workshop. All mouthpieces are intended for a rather conservative clientele. The mouthpiece chambers have a traditional geometry and are non-stepped. The goal of the Japanese manufacturer was to revive the playing characteristics of the best vintage mouthpieces of the 1960s and 1970s under the Aizen brand. To achieve this, a multitude of older mouthpieces were tested and measured for their playing characteristics. The best examples served as models for the Aizen mouthpieces.
