Yamaha s “Model Austria” clarinets are the result of intensive research by our designers in cooperation with some of Austria s leading clarinetists. Thanks to a wealth of important improvements, they have matured into a new standard of quality that meets even the highest demands. Top musicians such as Kurt Franz Schmid (Lower Austrian Tonkünstler Orchestra, Vienna), Reinhard Wieser (Vienna Symphony Orchestra), and Wenzel Fuchs (Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra) particularly appreciate the rich, dark, and velvety soft sound and are impressed by the precise intonation and balanced response across the entire range. Characteristic technical details include a larger bore, a pear with a larger outer and inner diameter, metal rings on the tenons of the upper joint and a bell ring, and a new conical design of the tone holes.
