The MuffBites offer a wide range of possibilities for unique damping effects. The black felt rim, combined with the vintage corduroy fabric, covers about a third of the head and preserves the natural drum sound. The magnetic RimMount system holds the MuffBites securely on the hoop and also allows them to be used on the resonance side.
They reduce overtones, minimise sustain and enable a more precise, drier sound with bite. Each MuffBite is supplied with three metal clamps so that they can also be used on a cast iron hoop. The clamps are padded with foam on the inside for better grip and protection of the hoop.
