Lorenz Raab - Schagerl Artist

How did you get into music and the trumpet?
My father was a bandleader, I was allowed to go to music school at the age of 8, the rest just happened ... I heard Maurice Andre in Passau, Hakan Hardenberger in Salzburg and Joe Zawinul at the Brucknerhaus, that's what I wanted to do!
Who has particularly influenced you in your career?
Bo Nilsson, Thomas Stevens, James Thompson and Hans Gansch as well as Miles, Chet and Clifford!
You oscillate between classical music and jazz.
Do you have a preference?
No ... music is music and it's good or boring.
Which Schagerl instruments do you use regularly?
Aglaea, Penelope, Hans Gansch B and Prototype C from the year 2000
What are your current projects?
I'm currently enjoying the fact that I can be involved in a wide variety of projects or start new projects of my own.
The four of us have taken over Pro Brass with Jürgen Ellensohn, Walter Voglmayr and Gerald Pöttinger. New CD coming in May 2021 with lots of music by exciting new composers and enchanting arrangements.
