Product details
The Bubble Mute by Jo-Ral delivers an edgy, almost biting sound with high recognizability. It belongs to the family of wah-wah mutes (also known as the Harmon type), which are particularly prized in jazz for their compact, focused tone. Covering and uncovering the front opening with your hand creates the typical wah-wah effects. The sophisticated acoustic design ensures nearly perfect intonation across all registers, allowing for clean execution even in high and low passages. At the same time, the mute impresses with its assertive projection and a rich, almost voluminous sound that remains clearly audible even in an ensemble. A characterful mute for jazz, big band, and anyone who wants to add a distinctive timbre to their trumpet playing.
Jo-Ral mutes are meticulously crafted in the USA from premium hand-spun aluminum. Each mute is carefully tested to ensure consistent performance and exceptional intonation across all registers. For added tonal complexity, we offer optional copper and brass bases, broadening the artists expressive possibilities. Jo-Ral stands at the forefront of mute manufacturing, pushing the boundaries of musical artistry.
