The Hirschman Mutes KR Indigo Plunger Mute is the result of decades of development with the aim of creating the best-sounding, most stable, most comfortable and most expressive trumpet plunger. It was developed in collaboration with renowned trumpeter Kenny Rampton. The mute impresses with the following features:
IN TUNE!
This plunger is perfectly tuned from low to high. Even when switching between open and closed (tight) plunger, the pitch remains consistent, which is especially important for ensemble passages. In addition, better intonation means less ‘work’ and thus greater endurance.
Kenny Penny™ venting system
Some players like to drill a hole in their plungers (where the wooden rod used to be), others don t. Still others carry two plungers in their bag so they can have both options. The Kenny Penny venting system has one penny outside the plunger and another inside. Turning the outer penny closes the plunger hole with the inner penny.
Tone hole
When the Kenny Penny is open, interesting effects can be achieved by covering and uncovering the tone hole with your finger.
Large, comfortable handle that makes it easier to pick up the plunger and reduces slipping and dropping.
Pixie mute killer
Any standard-size straight mute can be used, which means that Pixie mutes are no longer necessary.
The ‘KR Indigo MAX’ is slightly deeper and wider on the outside than the ‘KR Indigo’.
