Vincent Bach was a rare combination of artist and engineer. In his search for the perfect design, he constantly modified his mouthpieces. It was not until the mid-1960s that he stopped and finally settled on a more standardised design. Around this time, the formalisation of the 27 neck and backbore-to-cup lettering (A=24, B=7, C=10, etc.) created a standard for mouthpiece manufacturing that is still used today. These standards are now known as the Classic Series. We have innovatively designed the most consistent brass mouthpieces in the industry and made them lead-free.
