Manfred Lugger - Schagerl Artist

I studied trumpet at the conservatory in Innsbruck in the nineties and first came to Schagerl through my friend and fellow student Florian Klingler.
I was immediately very impressed by the personal support and familiar manner - I didn't know that from similar companies...
The fact that as a young student you get the opportunity to choose instruments and test them extensively was very important to me and actually a privilege.
Of course, I also found it particularly overwhelming that you could meet many of your own idols in the workshop or in the shop by chance, such as ‘the Legend’ Hans Gansch! Hans is probably the greatest idol I've had the honour of meeting in person, he's probably had the biggest impact on me, no matter what kind of music he plays, and if it's just a single note, he can fill it with life so that you can really get goosebumps. I was all the more honoured to be able to play brass band with him for a few years! Since then, we have also had a personal friendship.
But there are many other outstanding personalities and musicians who you normally only know from recordings and concerts and who suddenly ‘let their hair down’ next to you when testing instruments, such as Gabor Tarkövi, or the people from Mnozil-Brass or James Morrison etc...
I've been teaching trumpet at the Tiroler Musikschulwerk since 1994 and have been a member of Viera Blech since 2011.
I use my Ganschhorn and my Schagerl cornet model Hans Gansch the most.
I've tried and used many models over the years since I've known Schagerl, including the W2001, Hans Gansch Heavy, Ganschhorn heavy and now the Ganschhorn light, because I was impressed by the slightly more direct sound, the good response and the possibility of adapting the sound to the respective musical style, which is very important for me as a trumpeter with Viera brass
In general, however, I have always been impressed by the overtone-rich and centred sound.
I would like to thank Karl and Robert Schagerl and especially Michael Schiller and the whole team for this good partnership and friendship!
