Robert
Rother, a talented musician from Melk, began his musical journey at the age of
eight when he received his first trumpet lessons from Johann Gansch of the
Stadtkapelle Melk. His musical education took him to the University of Music
Vienna, where he studied trumpet as his major subject under Josef Pomberger
from 1984 to 1991. His pursuit of further education led him to the Joseph Haydn
Conservatory in Eisenstadt, where he studied instrumental pedagogy for trumpet
from 1991 to 1994, and later for recorder.
Robert
began his musical career early on as a freelance musician with various Viennese
orchestras, including the Vienna Symphony, the Vienna State Opera Orchestra,
and the Vienna Radio Symphony Orchestra. From 1990 to 2003, he served as a
bandmaster and music teacher in Mank. Since 1996, he has been the bandmaster of
the Musikverein Lyra Wiener Neudorf.
A
significant milestone in his career was joining the group Mnozil Brass in 1996
during the "AufhOHRchen" festival. Since then, he has been a
permanent member of this internationally renowned and esteemed brass ensemble.
