Hans Petter is principal trumpet with the Trondheim Symphony Orchestra and artistic director of the Nordic Brass Ensemble, which he co-founded in 1996. He is also a frequent guest with many orchestras throughout Europe, including the Mahler Chamber Orchestra, the Gothenburg Symphony, and the Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra.
Particular attention should be paid to his valuable contribution to the Schagerl “1961” trumpet series, where his artistic experience and keen sense of sound aesthetics have played a decisive role in its development.
In addition, he has written hundreds of arrangements exclusively for the Nordic Brass Ensemble. He often finds inspiration for his music in nature—while hiking in the mountains with his fishing rod.
