Hannes Läubin

About the Artist

Hannes Läubin received his first trumpet lessons from his father at the age of nine. He won three first prizes at the national "Jugend musiziert" competition and second prize at the "Concertino Praga". From 1971 to 1976, he was a member of the German National Youth Orchestra and a junior student of Robert Bodenröder at the Freiburg University of Music. At the age of 18, he took up a position as third trumpeter in the NDR Symphony Orchestra, where he was appointed principal trumpeter two years later. After 16 years of orchestral service, he moved to the Stuttgart Musikhochschule as a professor in 1992, and in 1996 he accepted an appointment at the Munich Musikhochschule. Hannes Läubin has also played as a permanent substitute in the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra since 1995. As a sought-after soloist, Hannes Läubin can also be heard at international festivals such as the Schleswig-Holstein Festival, the Bach Academy Venezuela and the Oregon Bach Festival. Together with the Gächinger Kantorei under Helmuth Rilling and the Windsbacher Knabenchor under Karl-Friedrich Beringer, as well as with his two brothers, who also play the trumpet, he has made numerous CD recordings.
