Venezuelan musician and trumpeter who delved into the world of
Afro-Venezuelan percussion at the age of 8, simultaneously belonging to the
lineup of singers in the children's group "La Guachafita." He embarked
on various national tours with them, eventually culminating in his
participation in Miss Venezuela 1996... At the age of 13, he began his trumpet
studies under the guidance of Professor Rafael José Machado (known as
"Cambure"). Later, he relocated to the city of Caracas, where he
managed to gain admission to the "José Ángel Lamas Superior School of
Music" and continued his trumpet lessons with Russian professor Bogdan
Kalmuk. At the age of 17, he commenced his musical studies (trumpet) at the Simón
Bolívar Music Conservatory. In 2014, he was appointed as a Popular Trumpet Professor
at the Simón Bolívar Music Conservatory. In 2012, he was invited to participate
in the Grande Maurice Trumpet Festival, and a year later, he was signed as an
artist of Venezuela for Latin America and the world by the renowned Austrian
instrument manufacturer Schagerl. Towards the end of 2014, he was summoned by
Maestro Pablo Gil to become part of a prestigious and ambitious project called Venezuela
Big Band Jazz, where he was appointed as Principal of the trumpet section and
Lead Trumpet.
In 2007, he was selected to participate in the recording of the first
album by the Simón Bolívar Symphony Band titled "Música de Templos y Retretas,"
courtesy of Shell de Venezuela. He has been invited on several occasions to
perform with the Simón Bolívar Venezuelan Youth Orchestra under the direction
of acclaimed conductors such as the renowned Alondra de la Parra from Mexico. Additionally,
he has been part of the trumpet section of the Caracas Youth Symphony Orchestra
and the Brass Ensemble of the same orchestra. He has also been a member of the
Simón Bolívar Symphony Band under the baton of Maestro Jesús Ignacio Pérez
Perazo, where he held the principal trumpet position. Furthermore, he was a
founding member of the Simón Bolívar Big Band Jazz and later chosen as the Lead
Trumpet under the direction of Maestro Andrés Briceño. During his involvement,
he had the opportunity to attend various seminars with guest professors from
different parts of the world, including Nicolás Folmer (France), James Delano
Dollar (United States), Staffod Hunter (United States), Rolando Napoleón
Briceño (Venezuela), James Seely (United States), James Richard Griffin (United
States), Carlos Sanoja (Venezuela), Rubén Rebolledo (Venezuela), Alberto Lazo
(Venezuela), Edward Simón (Venezuela-United States), and Ángel Subero (Venezuela-United
States). Furthermore, as a guest musician, he has participated in the recording
of the album "Mambos y Fanfarrias" by the Simón Bolívar Symphony Band
under the direction of guest conductor Thomas Clamor from Germany. He has also
taken part in the Brass Schagerl Festival and has worked as an assistant to
Lead Trumpet Brihan Davis (United States). Other notable events he has
participated in include the world premiere of the work "El Camino a Santiago
Llega a Ti," a posthumous piece by Maestro Pablo Manavello, and the
Schagerl All-Star Big Band alongside renowned multi-instrumentalist James
Morrison, among others.
