Laura Valbuena

About the Artist

Born in Bogotá, Colombia. Laura is definitely a representative of Colombian and Latin American folklore in Vienna, Austria, the city where she has been living since 2013. Her presence in the scene is remarkable, not only as an artist, but also as a project leader. Like her main project, for example: Visa Mestiza. She studied clarinet classical music and saxophone popular music at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna. Thanks to her interpretation skills and knowledge of various musical genres, she has had the opportunity to perform on stage with renowned artists such as Ina Forsman at various jazz/soul/blues festivals in Germany, the Netherlands, France, Luxembourg and Spain (2021), with the big band Femenina de Bogota at the Jazz al Parque festival in Colombia (2022), with Gregorio Uribe at the Lincoln Center in New York (2023), with Nina Ogot in Germany (2023), with Ruben Blades at the Crüilla festival in Barcelona (2023), with Juan Diego Flórez at the Wiener Konzerthaus (2018) and at the Abu Dhabi Festival (2023), with Las Migas at the Radiokulturhaus Vienna (2023) and Sargfabrik Vienna (2024), with Puerto Candelaria (2024), with Marta Gómez in Madrid (2025) with Jorge Drexler at Porgy & Bess Vienna (2024) and Palau der Musica Catalana in Barcelona (2025) and with the Limitless Orchestra under the direction of Aleksey Igudesman at Dubai Opera (2025) As a producer, Laura has her own music label: Visa Mestiza Records In 2020, she was appointed cultural representative of her place of origin, Ubaté.
