abian Rucker, inspired by his parents' extensive record collection, discovered musical greats such as the Beatles, Bob Dylan, Janis Joplin, Johann Sebastian Bach, Arvo Pärt and Charlie Parker at an early age. He furthered his musical education at the Anton Bruckner Private University in Linz, where he studied classical saxophone with Peter Rohrsdorfer and jazz with Allan Praskin and Christoph Cech.
In 2003, Rucker founded the electronic avant-garde jazz trio [midshi], which released the album "Wege" in 2005. In 2009, he joined Philipp Nykrin's trio Namby Pamby Boy, with whom he has released three albums since 2011. He was also a member of SK Invitational and founded the trio Previte/Gamble/Rucker, which released an album in 2015. In 2017, Rucker presented himself for the first time as a bandleader with his quintet Fabian Rucker 5, consisting of Chris Neuschmid, Philipp Nykrin, Andreas Waelti and Andreas Lettner. With this formation, he explored the boundaries between jazz, pop music and modern music. Their album "Hypocritical Mass" was released by BMC Records in 2019. Rucker has also produced albums for Bobby Previte and Charlie Hunter.
