Everything you need to know about the warranty of your Schagerl instrument
1. The warranty period for a Schagerl instrument is 3 years from the date of invoice. 5 years if the instrument is serviced annually by us.
2. The warranty covers defects in the solder joints, spherical ball bearings, conical plain bearings, water key springs and defects that are demonstrably due to a material defect and/or manufacturing defect.
3. The warranty claim does not extend to wear parts and consumables (such as cork, height clearance plain bearings in rotary valve instruments, horseshoe rubber, pressure unit springs, O-rings, felts in perinet instruments, height clearance in valves, etc.).
4. The warranty claim expires or does not exist in the event of:
- Non-compliance with the service intervals specified in point 5 5. In order to maintain the warranty claim, a service with internal cleaning must have been carried out at SCHAGERL Music GmbH at regular intervals, but no longer than every 12 months 6. The guarantee obligation of SCHAGERL Music GmbH shall only apply subject to the proviso that any repairs to be carried out under the guarantee are carried out exclusively by SCHAGERL Music GmbH. Repairs carried out by other companies are not covered by the guarantee. SCHAGERL Music GmbH will not reimburse any financial benefits for such expenses, even if a defect itself would have been covered by the guarantee. The same applies to the replacement of an instrument. 7. In the absence of proof of warranty (this is exclusively the original invoice), any warranty claim shall lapse. 8. A warranty obligation is not triggered by minor deviations from the target quality that are insignificant for the value and usability of the device. The guarantee therefore only covers defects within the meaning of point 2. which are significant for the value and/or usability. 9. Warranty services do not extend the warranty period, nor do they start a new warranty period. The warranty period for installed spare parts ends with the original warranty period for the entire appliance. 10. The care instructions form an integral part of the warranty conditions. It is expressly stated that non-compliance with the information contained in the care instructions leads to the exclusion of warranty claims, insofar as defects are attributable to non-compliance. In case of doubt, the customer must prove that defects are not due to non-compliance with the information contained in the care instructions. The customer must observe the instructions for proper instrument care enclosed with the goods. Signs of wear on instruments are only covered by the guarantee if they have occurred despite appropriate care or due to demonstrably poor workmanship and have reached an unusually high level. Dark spots on the edge of the bell are expressly not covered by the guarantee, as this is not damage to the paintwork. SCHAGERL Music GmbH will be happy to answer any questions regarding instrument care. 11. The guarantee is granted exclusively to the respective end customer/end user. The guarantor in all cases is the company:
SCHAGERL Music GmbH 12. If a defect as defined in point 2 of these provisions occurs within the warranty period under normal use, this instrument will be repaired or replaced at the exclusive discretion of SCHAGERL Music GmbH. 13. The customer cannot claim warranty for instruments with an unrecognizable serial number. 14. Warranty claims can only be made to SCHAGERL Music GmbH with prior registration and the original invoice. 15. the customer shall bear the cost of returning the instrument to SCHAGERL Music GmbH. SCHAGERL Music GmbH shall bear the costs of the return shipment if it is a warranty case. Otherwise the costs will be charged to the customer by SCHAGERL Music GmbH. 16. Warranty claims must be asserted immediately, but at the latest within two months of the defect becoming known or visible, otherwise they are excluded. Warranty claims must be made in writing within this period, whereby e-mail or fax are permissible. If the original invoice is sent by e-mail or fax, it must be submitted by post at the earliest. 17. Any warranty is subject to the condition that the products are used properly and professionally and that product maintenance and care have not been neglected. 18. Note for consumers: The statutory warranty obligation of the seller is not limited by this guarantee to consumers. 19. For all instruments purchased from 2019 onwards, the warranty period is extended to 36 months if the buyer registers these instruments within 8 weeks of the date of purchase. Registration can only be done online at www.schagerl.com. The registration email, which must be printed out immediately, and the original proof of purchase showing the date of purchase are valid as confirmation. Registration is only possible if the buyer agrees to the storage of the data provided there. The warranty period is extended to 60 months for buyers who are citizens of the USA or have their registered office or place of residence in the USA, provided that they register in accordance with the aforementioned provisions. 20. The territorial scope of this warranty extends worldwide (taking into account the deviations applicable to the USA in point 19 of these provisions). 21. the exclusive place of jurisdiction for all claims arising from this guarantee shall be the court responsible for 3240 Mank. The place of performance for this guarantee is 3240 Mank. The guarantee shall be governed exclusively by Austrian law to the exclusion of the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods.
- Performance of even just one service by companies or persons other than those named in point 5
- Non-compliance with the care instructions, insofar as defects are attributable to non-compliance
- Damage to the paintwork
- Appearance of dark spots on the edge of the bell
- Product damage caused by the buyer or third parties
- Defects or damage caused by normal wear and tear
- Defects or damage caused by external damage (such as dropping, force, etc.)
- Defects or damage due to oxidation
- Defects or damage due to contamination
- Calcification or damage due to calcification
- Defects or damage due to improper storage
- Bacterial infestation of SIGO, SI and lacquer (e.g. if stored in excessively damp conditions)
- Use of the instrument not in accordance with its intended purpose
- Defects or damage caused by force majeure or natural disasters, in particular, but not limited to, flooding, fire or frost damage.
- Defects or damage resulting from the effects of water or if the instrument has otherwise come into contact with unsuitable substances
- Defects resulting from accidents, misuse, improper use, negligence, improper maintenance and care or modifications to the instrumen
- Defects or damage resulting from perspiration, corrosive environments or other external factors such as extremes of temperature or humidity
