Hans Petter is solo-trumpet in Trondheim Symphony Orchestra and the artistic leader of NBE, of which he was a co-founder in 1996. He is also a frequent guest in many orchestras throughout Europe, such as Mahler Chamber Orchestra, Gothenburg Symphony, and Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra.

He has written hundreds of arrangement exclusively for NBE. Ideas for his music often comes when wandering in the mountains with his fishing rod in his hands.
