Born in 1960in Vienna, his musical education started at the age of 12 with classical clarinet lessons – but shortly after he changed to tenorsax. He completed his studies at the Conservatory of Vienna (master of arts) and the Berklee College of Music(Boston/USA). He is one of the most demanded studio and session players as well as jazz soloist in styles ranging from small jazz groups to big band and also plays in orchestral settings.

Since 1991 he is teaching at the University of Music in Vienna and is endorser for Schagerl Saxophones and D’ADDARIO PERFORMING ARTISTS .

Since a few years I play Alto Saxophones of Schagerl Model 66 Line and I´m more than happy with those instruments!
