Spanish trumpet player David Pastor is holding a great professional trajectory. During the summer months, he has played more than forty concerts, taking part in important Jazz Festivals in Spain and also Italy, together with the well-regarded saxophone player Francesco Cafiso, both of them Schagerls’ artists.
Among being one of the most outstanding jazz musicians in the Spanish jazz scene, he is a well-known educator. He has gained an important presence in the educational field during the last years. Pastor is the main trumpet professor at Taller de Músics (Barcelona), being as well a renowned freelancer educator. He usually teaches many workshops and courses in different music schools and conservatories such as Real Conservatorio Superior de Música de Madrid.
David Pastor is the leader of his personal jazz project, the Nu-Roots trio, which is getting ready a new repertoire to record in fall 2016. This active trumpeter collaborates also with different jazz formations and pop and flamenco artists. Furthermore, his versatility and rich language allows him to play with important classical orchestras like OBC (Orquestra Simfònica de Barcelona i Nacional de Catalunya) and Orquestra de València, in which he is the only jazz trumpeter that has been the first soloist trumpet during a concert.
In addition, David Pastor develops composing and arrangement works for some bands and he also performs the conduction task in some jazz formations like the Original Jazz Orquestra of the Taller de Músics. On the other hand, David Pastor takes part in more than twenty recordings every year for the music and film industry.
